The city rule

Inside Abilene city limits, the City is the only authorized trash collector.

City Ordinance Sec. 27-11 and Tex. Health & Safety Code 364.034

The exception

Short-term construction debris.

Roof tear-offs, remodels, builds and concrete jobs can use a private roll-off.

Household cleanouts

Household trash inside the city goes through City Solid Waste.

Outside city limits, cleanout dumpsters are fine.

Street placement

Check with the City before placing a dumpster on a street.

A driveway or job site is the simplest spot.

Drop-offs

  • Paint, batteries, tires: Environmental Recycling Center, 2209 Oak St
  • Furniture, mattresses: Citizens Convenience Station, 2149 Sandy St
